the eh and worst of 2016 ("why did i watch this?" and "i hate my life")
This list is limited to the movies I watched in theaters. A number next to the movie title indicates if I saw a movie multiple times in the cinema. These are categorized in alphabetical order, and for more info on the somewhat self-explanatory categories, click here to read more about them. Thanks for reading and make sure to let me know what you think about the list and my choices, and we can discuss!
WHY DID I WATCH THIS?
The Accountant
Switches to a completely different kind of movie midway and just doesn’t work.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2)
So much potential, so disappointing, but some saving graces. Why did you say that name?
Bridge of Spies
Solid to the point I lost interest.
Carol
Great acting. Yawn.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
Surprisingly boring for a movie set in the Harry Potter universe. Intrigued for the sequels though.
Ghostbusters (2016)
Should have been a sequel instead of a rebootquel. Funny moments though.
Jackie
Natalie Portman is so damn good, but the rest of the movie can’t live up to her performance.
The Light Between Oceans
Don’t think I’m the target audience. Not as emotional as I had hoped.
The Magnificent Seven
Good action, just so many missteps.
A Monster Calls
Extremely high expectations killed my enjoyment and the emotionality of the movie.
The Revenant
Great visuals, no story, boring.
Warcraft
Surprisingly made you care about a CGI character, stunning visuals, sucky story.
I HATE MY LIFE
Assassin’s Creed
Talked before the movie with my friend about so many reasons why an Assassin’s Creed movie couldn’t be bad. This movie got it all wrong.
Suicide Squad (2)
Will Smith and Margot Robbie were literally the only good things about this stupid movie. Disappointment all around. The first time I saw it, I thought it was alright, fun in some places. After the second time, I can't stand it anymore.
