WELCOME ONE AND ALL TO ONE OF THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS AWARD SHOWS IN ALL OF MY APARTMENT.

Okay, I know I missed last year, I just didn’t feel like doing it! Those awards still do exist I just didn’t actually make a post about it, so I’m still counting it - please don’t cancel me! And yes, I’m making the extremely controversial call to include some shows and miniseries! Sorry!

This is a chance for me to share my favorite things about the 2021 movies I saw in theaters and streaming! I’m not just trying to single out one specific winner, but recognizing what I think are huge achievements - interesting moments that I really connected with or special performances! Note that I don’t think they’re objectively the best, rather my favorites so don’t @ me, please.

A few of my favorites scenes, whether they hooked me by their acting, gripping action or whatever else (see “MOST TEARS” for more Favorites)! I also removed my Facepalm Moments section just cuz I don’t want to be so negative anymore! I linked to videos or pics or GIFs for extra context if I could find some!

MOST TEARS

The moments that made me realize my eyes are allergic to popcorn or something in theaters. These also fall into the “FAVORITE SCENES” category. I’m also a really REALLY easy target when it comes to these moments. Note for the scenes that are linked: many contain spoilers (a lot are finales of movies, tbh…), AND context is key and so these clips may not be as good on their own / without the rest of the movie!
